Lee Nelson vs. Ponzinibbio Pettis vs. Moreno Volkov vs. And that's what we are here to do. Who does Garbrandt take on following his first main event win?
Where does highly touted Aljamain Sterling go from here? Well, let's find out as we make all the matches for the winners and losers from Las Vegas.
Adam Milstead def. Let's see him one more time, and book him opposite Marcin Tybura. Milstead won his eighth straight fight in his UFC debut, and is just 28 years old.
That's young for this heavyweight division. Bryan Caraway def. Aljamain Sterling by split decision , , Sterling was the next big thing in the bantamweight division—or at least he was supposed to be.
The crafty vet that is Caraway had other ideas. Sterling dominated the first round, but looked slower in the remaining two frames.
He'll learn a lot from this fight. He shouldn't fall out of the loop at pounds, but he also shouldn't fight a top contender.
Jimmie Rivera is a quality opponent for Sterling's next outing. Caraway is going to have to wait until UFC and play out.
It's looking like the winners of Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber and TJ Dillashaw vs. Raphael Assuncao will fight.
That leaves Cody Garbrandt as the best option without a fight on the books. And given the state of the division, don't be surprised if the winner of the bout earns a title shot.
Erik Koch def. Shane Campbell via submission rear-naked choke at of the second round. Campbell has lost three of four in the UFC.
Does he get another chance? It's his last opportunity. Koch is back in the win column, and back to looking like a legitimate prospect.
But don't buy any stock in him yet. The UFC should simply be pinpointing fun stylistic matchups for him for the time being. Kevin Lee may be the most fun.
Uda didn't look too bad in the first round of his UFC debut, but then Collier put it on him in the second.
Unfortunately, no one will care. Collier had an impressive finish, but no one is jumping on his bandwagon at this point.
He is a mid-level middleweight at best. The UFC's best use for him will be to test others that have potential to move up the ladder.
Oluwale Bamgbose is a fighter that has the physical tools, but needs time to develop. Bamgbose vs.
Collier would be intriguing to watch go down. Abel Trujillo def. Jordan Rinaldi by unanimous decision , , Rinaldi performed admirably in his UFC debut against a heavy thrower.
Damir Hadzovic also lost his Octagon debut. Throw them in the cage opposite one another. Trujillo has been scheduled to fight Ross Pearson twice before and the fight never happened.
Both are coming off wins. Third time is a charm? Sara McMann def. Jessica Eye by unanimous decision , , McMann called for a title shot.
There is absolutely no way she gets it, but at least she called for it, I guess. It's more likely she'll get the winner of Holly Holm vs.
Valentina Shevchenko or Cat Zingano vs. Julianna Pena. It will depend on which of the two victors is not in line for a title shot.
Eye could be on the cut line, but with UFC happening in Cleveland, she deserves one more chance. The UFC needs to find an aggressive stand-up fighter to bring out the best in Eye.
Bethe Correia fits the mold. Paul Felder def. Josh Burkman by unanimous decision , , The main card kicked off with an exciting tilt between Burkman and Felder.
It would be the striking of Felder that was the difference. Blood was not in short supply after an inside elbow gashed Burkman.
The win is the second consecutive for Felder. Burkman looked decent in his lightweight debut in February, but he couldn't get it done on Sunday.
He has a lot of wear and tear on his body, and the athletic field may be too much for him to become a contender. However, he still has the tools to test everyone in the division.
That makes him a gatekeeper. Making his way up to that gate is Jake Matthews. We'll see if the Australian is ready to make the leap.
Felder, on the other hand, may earn himself another upper-echelon opponent.
